About Us
Shomaf Nakhjo, DO Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery

Dr. Shomaf Nakhjo

Dr. Nakhjo is a fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in advanced minimally invasive surgery. Early in his career, he performed a wide variety of laparoscopic procedures, honing his skills in minimally invasive techniques.

After several years in private practice, Dr. Nakhjo recognized a growing patient concern regarding the use of plastic mesh in inguinal hernia repair. After several thousand laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs with mesh, Dr. Nakhjo also understood the potential risks and limitations of traditional mesh-based repairs. This led him to offer a mesh-free alternative, in particular the Shouldice Inguinal Hernia Repair which aligned well with patients seeking an alternative to plastic mesh repair.

Over the past five years, he has focused on performing the Shouldice Inguinal Hernia Repair, a proven, mesh-free method for inguinal hernia repair. This approach allows patients to benefit from equally effective, minimally invasive surgery while avoiding the complications that can arise with plastic mesh repair.
